Lower the barbell in a controlled manner by extending the elbows, allowing the weight to descend toward the thighs while maintaining upper arm position and preventing shoulder shrugging

Flex the elbows and curl the barbell upward by contracting the biceps, driving through the hands to bring the bar toward shoulder height, then reverse direction with control to return to starting position
