1
Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, holding a barbell across the upper back and shoulders with hands slightly wider than shoulder-width. Maintain an upright torso with neutral spine alignment and gaze forward.
2
Engage the core and take a deep breath. Position feet so that toes point slightly outward at approximately 5-10 degrees. Ensure weight is distributed evenly across the midfoot and heel.
3
Lower your body by simultaneously bending at the knees and hips, descending until thighs are parallel to the ground or slightly below. Keep knees tracking over toes and chest upright throughout the descent.
4
Drive through the midfoot and heel to extend the knees and hips, returning to the standing position. Maintain neutral spine and controlled movement throughout the ascent.
