1
Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, holding a barbell with an overhand grip slightly wider than shoulder-width. Maintain an upright torso with a slight forward lean from the hips and engaged core.
2
Grip the barbell firmly with hands positioned wider than shoulders. Engage your lats by retracting shoulder blades slightly back and down. Maintain neutral spine alignment throughout the movement.
3
Lower the barbell in a controlled manner by allowing elbows to extend downward and slightly forward. The barbell travels in a slight arc toward the front of the body. Continue lowering until you feel a full stretch in the lats, maintaining slight knee bend.
4
Drive elbows downward and back by contracting the lats, pulling the barbell back toward the hips in an arc. Squeeze the lats at the top position, keeping the torso relatively stable. Return to starting position with controlled movement.
