1
Sit on the leg extension machine with your back and upper body firmly against the backrest. Position your knees at a 90-degree angle with feet flat on the footplate. Keep your hands on the handles beside you for stability.
2
Adjust the machine so the pivot point aligns with your knee joint. Place the top of your foot under the padded lever arm. Ensure your lower back maintains contact with the backrest throughout the movement.
3
Slowly lower the weighted lever arm by bending your knees in a controlled manner, allowing the quadriceps to lengthen. Lower until knees reach approximately 90 degrees or slightly less, without allowing momentum to take over.
4
Drive through your thighs to extend your legs upward, straightening your knees fully while maintaining control. Squeeze the quadriceps at the top of the movement, then return to the starting position with control.
