1
Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, holding a barbell across the front of your shoulders at collarbone height with elbows pointing forward. Maintain an upright torso with neutral spine alignment.
2
Grip the barbell with hands slightly wider than shoulder-width, palms facing downward. Engage your core and keep your weight distributed evenly across your feet with heels firmly planted.
3
Lower your body by bending at the hips and knees simultaneously, descending in a controlled manner until your thighs are parallel to the ground or slightly below. Keep your chest upright and knees tracking over your toes throughout the descent.
4
Drive through your heels and extend your hips and knees to return to the starting position, pressing the barbell upward slightly as you stand. Exhale during the ascent and fully lock out at the top before repeating.
