1
Stand facing the cable machine with feet shoulder-width apart. Grasp the rope attachment overhead with both hands at approximately head height. Maintain an upright posture with a slight forward lean from the hips.
2
Position yourself approximately 2-3 feet away from the machine to create moderate tension on the cable. Grip the rope firmly with both hands, keeping elbows bent at approximately 90 degrees. Engage your core in preparation for the movement.
3
Slowly extend upward by releasing tension in your abdominal muscles, allowing the rope to pull your torso slightly backward and upward. Move with control, taking 2-3 seconds to reach full extension while maintaining posture and preventing hyperextension of the lower back.
4
Contract your abdominal muscles to pull your torso downward and forward, bringing your elbows toward your hips in a crunching motion. Exhale as you perform this concentric phase over 1-2 seconds. Return to the starting position with control and repeat.
