1
Stand upright facing away from a cable machine with feet shoulder-width apart. Set cable to high position and attach a rope handle. Grip the rope with both hands at chest level, keeping elbows bent and close to your torso.
2
Position yourself so there is moderate tension on the cable. Hold the rope handle at chest height with elbows flexed. Maintain a neutral spine and engage your core before initiating movement.
3
Slowly extend your torso backward by leaning back, allowing the cable to pull your upper body into extension. Control the movement and feel a stretch in your abdominal muscles. Keep your hips stationary and let only your spine extend.
4
Contract your abdominal muscles and crunch your torso forward, flexing your spine toward your pelvis. Drive your elbows down and together as you curl forward. Return to the starting position with controlled movement, resisting the cable's pull throughout.
