1
Stand facing the cable machine with feet shoulder-width apart, knees slightly bent, and torso upright. Grasp the overhead cable handles with arms extended above head, shoulders in a neutral position.
2
Grip the handles firmly with both hands using a neutral or slightly wider than shoulder-width grip. Engage your core and maintain a slight forward lean with your chest up.
3
Slowly lower the cable handles in a controlled manner by extending your arms, allowing the weight to resist your movement. Keep your elbows slightly bent throughout the eccentric phase as your shoulder blades retract upward and backward.
4
Drive the handles downward and toward your torso by contracting the latissimus dorsi muscles. Pull the handles to approximately chest level, squeezing the lats at the bottom position. Return to the starting position with control over 2-3 seconds.
