1
Stand facing the cable machine with feet hip-width apart, one leg slightly forward. Attach the cable to one ankle with the leg attachment. Maintain upright posture with a slight forward lean and core engaged.
2
Position the working leg with knee slightly bent and hip flexed. Hold onto the machine frame for balance with both hands. Ensure the cable is taut and resistance is set appropriately.
3
Slowly pull the leg backward in a controlled manner, extending the hip against cable resistance. Keep the torso relatively stable and avoid arching the lower back excessively. The movement should be deliberate and controlled throughout the lowering phase as the leg returns to starting position.
4
Powerfully drive the leg backward and upward, contracting the glutes maximally at the end range of motion. Squeeze the glute at the peak contraction for 1-2 seconds. Return to starting position with control, repeating for the prescribed number of reps before switching legs.
