1
Stand facing a cable machine or resistance band anchored at upper height. Position feet shoulder-width apart with knees slightly bent. Maintain upright posture with chest up and shoulders back.
2
Grasp the handle with both hands using a wide grip (hands wider than shoulder-width). Arms extended overhead with slight elbow bend. Engage core and prepare to initiate pulling motion.
3
Slowly lower the handle by extending arms upward and forward in a controlled manner, resisting the weight or band tension. Allow shoulders to elevate slightly as resistance lengthens the latissimus dorsi through a full range of motion over 2-3 seconds.
4
Powerfully pull the handle downward in an arc motion, driving elbows down and back toward the ribcage. Fully contract the lats by bringing hands down to upper chest level. Squeeze peak contraction briefly before returning to starting position over 1-2 seconds.
