1
Stand facing a cable machine with feet shoulder-width apart. Grasp the rope or bar attachment with both hands at approximately chest height, arms extended forward with slight knee bend for stability.
2
Position yourself at a distance where the cable has tension at the starting position. Maintain neutral spine with core engaged. Grip the attachment firmly with both hands using an overhand or neutral grip.
3
Slowly allow the cable to pull your arms forward and upward in a controlled manner, extending through the shoulders while maintaining a slight bend in the elbows. Feel the stretch across the lats and chest.
4
Pull the attachment downward and toward your body by retracting your scapulae and drawing your elbows down and back. Finish with the attachment at approximately lower chest level. Squeeze the lats at peak contraction, then return to start with control.
