1
Stand with feet hip-width apart, arms at sides or extended forward for balance. Maintain neutral spine alignment with slight forward lean from hips.
2
Engage core muscles and prepare for forward bending motion. Keep knees slightly bent or relatively straight depending on flexibility level. Position hands ready to reach toward floor.
3
Slowly hinge at the hips, lowering torso toward legs while keeping back relatively straight. Allow hamstrings to lengthen as you fold forward. Descend in controlled manner until reaching comfortable depth.
4
Drive through heels and contract hamstrings powerfully to extend hips and return torso to upright standing position. Complete the concentric phase by standing fully upright with controlled movement.
